Echo’s Object
Echo’s Object takes inspiration from the early and very queer work of Scott Treleaven, Richard Attila Lukacs, Will Munro and Jeremy Laing (who designed the costumes), In 2015, as part of TDT's Reimagining Repertoire project, I chose two of its dozen sections as the starting point for a new work called Echo. The final section of Echo’s Object, to ominous techo music by Plastikman, was re-purposed as a stand-alone piece called Echo Dark.

"Echo's Object is fresh, original and thoroughly enjoyable...(it) keeps asking personal questions that we have always privately asked ourselves."
Globe and Mail
"House is alarmingly conscious of ancient mythology's capacity to speak with a compelling contemporary voice."
National Post
"With stark and unchanging lighting and sound, the build of the work was carried entirely by House’s masterful sense of timing, use of pause and element of surprise."
Vandance
“A brilliant by-play of of timing and dramatic lighting, performed in long very full khaki skirts and combat boots, that conjures up militaristic dominance and other evils.”
