Artemis Madrigals

Artemis Madrigals marks my shift to a freer, more intuitive way of making dances. It was blessed by the collaboration of five brave and deeply musical dancers who poured their hearts into the duets and trios.

Dora Mavor Moore for Outstanding New Choreography

"... full of tense action and changes of direction as House wrung a series of duos and solos from a score by Stravinsky. The work's most delicious impulse came during a repeated series of erotic arm couplings by Sean Marye and Coralee McLaren, the concluding series of which seemed to sketch on the flesh the route of our journey through the piece. I didn't quite know where I had been, but I knew what it felt like."

Globe and Mail

"Artemis Madrigals, set to Stravinsky's Duo Concertant, captures better than any dance I have ever seen the sinewy quality of this score for piano and violin.”
